Microsuction is a gentle vacuum that clears blockages straight out of the ear canal. It is water free, and it is quick, safe and painless. Sarah is a local audiometrist, and she does it right here in Yamba.

Sarah works under magnification, with a headlight and a fine suction tip, so she can see the ear canal while she clears it. You sit in a chair and nothing is flushed into your ear. In her own words, it is a gentle vacuum, water free, and a quick, safe and painless procedure.

Nothing is flushed or syringed into your ear, so it is not left wet. Water free is how Sarah describes it, and that is the point of the method.

Headlight and loupes, and a fine suction tip. Sarah can see the ear canal while she is working in it.

Ear health, start to finish
A small, local, independent clinic. One clinician, who sees the job through herself rather than handing you down a chain.
Ear wax removal
The main event. Wax lifted out of the ear canal under magnification with gentle suction, rather than flushed out with water.
Post infection clean up
Ears left sore, itchy or full of debris after an infection or a course of drops get cleared carefully, without water anywhere near them.
Custom fitted ear plugs
Plugs moulded to your own ears for swimming, for noisy work and for sleep. A proper fit, not a chemist shelf compromise.
Home visits
If getting to the clinic is hard going, Sarah comes to you. That matters most for older folks and for anyone who is not driving at the moment.
Out of hours appointments
Work through the day? Appointments outside normal business hours can be arranged, so you are not burning annual leave on your ears.

Off the shelf plugs are made to one average shape. These are taken from an impression of your own ear, so they are made to fit you and nobody else.

Highly recommend Sarah at Clarence Clear Ears. She cares. She checked my 96 year old Dad’s ears and even trimmed the hairs for him. The micro suction technique she used for wax removal was very effective.

About
Meet Sarah McIntyre
Sarah is an audiometrist, and a local girl. She grew up on a cane farm at Palmers Island and spent her early working life in civil construction before changing direction in 2019 to train in audiometry.
In 2022 she was named Student of the Year by the Australian College of Audiology, an award presented at the national congress in Melbourne. She then went to Macquarie University in Sydney for her specialist wax microsuction qualifications, and started Clarence Clear Ears so that people here would not have to travel for it.
